I took this picture because I wanted to show my friend how to take the shot. He just had bought a Canon 40D with kit lens and was very excited to use it. He jumped right into manual mode. He got bad shots almost always. This was taken in their dining room; the candle was there because the light was busted. I had to crop the picture since my lens could not focus at the distance I wanted.

Yeah, you should. It’s a great investment. It costs a lot but it’s definitely worth it. You can still get one for lower price if you know where to buy.
