Nuffnang Movie Preview: Burn After Reading.

I was at the first Nuffnang Movie Premiere (BTW: I won tickets!!!). This is their first community event. From what they said, last night was a night for a lot of firsts. The movie was “Burn After Reading”, starred by George Clooney, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, and a lot more.

I got there at just about the right time. I met up with Winston and Jehzeel. Angelo later joined us (Note: if you’re reading this, it was nice to meet you). Well, it would be more appropriate to say that I joined them. They already know each other and I am a neophyte to this kinds if things. It was a bit awkward because of a lot of things. People already know each other and I’m like, “Uhmmm…”. Like I said, I’m new to these kinds of things. I’m not a really sociable person, so this is a big hurdle for me. I do make it a point to socialize now, though. Having lots of friends is great. I realized this a bit too late, but that’s a story for another day. Anyway, another thing that made it harder was that I really can’t speak Tagalog very well (read: a babbling idiot). Not that I had a lot of things to say but when I did, my bad tagalog speaking skills made it harder. Now, that’s out of the way, let me tell you how my night went. The screening was held at Cinema 6 of Robinsons Movie World, Robinsons Galleria. Before I went into the theater, I bought a Whopper Jr. value meal at Burger King. They had a promo or something, I really don’t know. I don’t eat there often. Anyway, they gave me a caramel (mmm… caramel…) sundae. Their Coke Light had a funky taste though. Anyhoo (?), I like movie previews. It’s like one of the things I go to movies for. This one had a lot plus one weird ad about evil, planning-to-dominate-the-world kind of seatmates possibly recording the movie. The movie was great. Well, that’s my opinion. It’s not exactly what you call you’re “easy-watching” (the nearest thing I can think of what I think it is. I took it from easy-listening genre from music genres) movie. Written and directed by the Coen Brothers, the directors of movies like “The Lady Killers” and “The Big Lebowski”. They have a weird humor that’s only appropriate for people with open minds. I, for one, have a very weird sense of humor. The movie was not that long; I forgot to time it though. It was funny when you least expect it. Brad Pitt was… uhmm… (for lack of a better word) adorable. For a forty-ish person, he acted and looked like he was twenty-ish and he did it well. That’s enough for now. I won’t tell you much about the movie, just watch it. Anyway, I had a great time albeit an awkward one. There was a quick end to my evening, since I have to go to work today and must wake up early. It was a nice one nonetheless.

I would like to thank Nuffnang for organizing the event and for giving me free tickets. I’m looking forward to your next event.

Favorite movie line: Sorry, I forgot. I had one; I just can’t remember the exact words. Sorry again. If I can find a script out there, I’ll update this.
